msb Posted December 17, 2024 Posted December 17, 2024 (edited) This classic Eddie Floyd classic. Edit … I think of this one as a classic classic. Edited December 17, 2024 by msb Quote
nekomatic Posted December 17, 2024 Posted December 17, 2024 Having just bought the CD reissue off Mickeyboro of this parish, I’m listening to the stone cold classic 1971 British jazz album A Symphony of Amaranths by Neil Ardley, which features a galaxy of talent of the time including Ivor Cutler as narrator on this track: Quote
msb Posted December 17, 2024 Posted December 17, 2024 One of the better recent Christmas releases … Quote

xgsjx Posted December 23, 2024 Posted December 23, 2024 Probably my fave song of 2024 & the more I listen to it, the more I love it. It just doesn’t go on for long enough. She’s a Canadian Palestinian. Her label dropped her just as she was about to release her debut album after things blew up in Palestine. Had she been a Zionist, things would have been different. The whole album is fantastic. Quote

I love Wendy & Lisa and that bassline is a particular favourite. Good call. There’s great bass all over Fruit at the Bottom. Lolly Lolly and Everday are really worth getting in your ear! Lisa put a ❤️ on a comment of mine on Facebook last week. Made my day! Edited December 23, 2024 by mike f 2 Quote
casapete Posted December 24, 2024 Posted December 24, 2024 Bit of an institution now in the USA, Darlene sings this every year on chat shows, recently on Jimmy Fallon. She is 83 now, and this is still one of my favourite Christmas songs of all time, especially this year with Little Steven and the Disciples of Soul as well. Quote

NancyJohnson Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 The last couple of days I've been ripping The Cure's back catalogue to a better audio format (subjective), so there's been a lot of The Cure. I am currently recording some vinyl to the computer (Living Colour/Funny Vibe remixes). Quote
