SteveXFR Posted February 27 Posted February 27 I'm enjoying Slift this morning. A French prog band with some really awesome bass. 2 Quote
bremen Posted February 27 Posted February 27 I love Slift. They're up there with Slint and the Slits. 1 Quote
Leonard Smalls Posted February 27 Posted February 27 An awesome mix of Laswell and Bailey and DeJohnette with crazed scratching by DJ Disc... 2 Quote

Probably being played too loudly if I’m honest. Great album. Quote
SteveXFR Posted March 7 Posted March 7 Silversun Pickups. How were they not bigger than Smashing Pumpkins? They don't sound dated at all. Quote
WalMan Posted March 13 Posted March 13 Nik Kershaw- Radio Musicola chilling on the balcony with a glass of wine on hols. All good here 😁 1 Quote

Chienmortbb Posted March 14 Posted March 14 (edited) Sladest. It used to infuriate me that Planet Rock would play US covers of Slade and the Kinks but never the originals. That has changed but I wonder how people would think about Slade if they were from the States? Edited March 14 by Chienmortbb 1 Quote

The football terrace stuff aside they were very musical. Noddy I believe was considered for the AC/DC job to replace BS... But declined.... Edited March 14 by BassBiscuit Quote

"That singer doesn't need a microphone!!!" I'd love to have heard Noddy+AC/DC. 1 Quote
Chienmortbb Posted March 14 Posted March 14 I think the antics of Dave Hill and the deliberate misspelling of the song titles are either considered great or childish. I think it was wise for Noddy not to join AC/DC. I love them, but they had less variation than Status Quo, whereas some of Slade's album tracks were varied and well constructed. Some of Jim Lea's bass lines were ludicrous, going all over the place, but I love them. Quote

NancyJohnson Posted March 14 Posted March 14 I'm reading a book about Fountains of Wayne, so it's somewhat fitting to be spinning their albums. Currently on Welcome Interstate Managers. I'm so happy they're back. 1 Quote
