Ancient Mariner
I don't often listen to music while surfing, but right now it's 'Highway Star' Deep Purple. Now that's a song with a lot of fun going on, even if the bass part is (mostly) tedious.

Bassassin
The Who - primarily Who's Next, Quadrophenia & Tommy. They were the first band I was ever obsessed with as a kid. Sometimes you hear music that's so good it makes you want to give up - I think if I could have appreciated quite how utterly, mind-buggeringly phenomenal they were 35 years ago, I wouldn't have bothered starting to play in the first place. purpleblob
Just been looking for a relevent thread to highlight this piece of music - "what are you listening to right now?" seemed as good a place as any Listening to Julian Michel myspace music, particularily like listening to "Make me wah" prior to this was listening to the Peatbog Faeries (but it's not a what were you last listening to thread, really into celtic modern music at the moment ), anyway, back to Julian Michel.
