Three for a band I'm auditioning for tomorrow:

Hippy Hippy Shake - Swinging Blue Jeans
Do Wah Diddy - Manfred Mann
All Or Nothing - Small Faces

Never taken any time before to listen or learn these, enjoyable to play though, especially the outro to Do Wah Diddy, only 4 bars, but rock on!

Cheers,
Rich

"Solid Gold T.Rex", on vinyl!!!

.......... and not "Queen's Greatest Hits"; this household is not one of the 6 million of the UK which has it.

Doesn't surprise me, when I worked in the CD factory I used to see it go through at least twice a week on a healthy run quantity too.

"The Definitive Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons",
Had to go to Homebase & spotted it for a whole £3 on a rack.
"The Night" is more than worth this on it's own. Bass like melted chocolate, fantastic horn section, wall of sound mix - amazing on the big system or headphones.
Another case of "didn't know they did that, or that, or that" their having first recorded later hits by The Tremeloes, Bay City Rollers & Detroit Spinners. Fascinating sleeve-notes; apparently actor Joe Pesci was involved in their getting together & Frankie's first hit was in 1953

Love Akercocke, shame they've called it a day. I did get hold of the Antichrist Imperium demo the other day which is great and I keep meaning to check out Voices which I understand is most of Akercocke without Mendoca.

Edit: just realised I've quoted a post from about 7 weeks ago.....
