howdenspur Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 Talking Heads '77 on Spotify. Terrific stuff - I'm sure I can hear some 10CC influences and their own influence on XTC. Quote

Cato Posted October 31, 2016 Posted October 31, 2016 (edited) Two Door Cinema Club - Gameshow. I liked their early quirky indie stuff but their new album has seen them morph into an 80s Electronica/disco/funk machine. Superb http://youtu.be/CJ8_alfIHYI Edited October 31, 2016 by Cato Quote

Very talented bloke. Quote

BrunoBass Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 I'm in a bit of a Crowded House phase at the moment, I've loved them for years, since the late '80s and rate Neil Finn's songwriting very highly. I've enjoyed going back and immersing myself in albums I've loved but not listened to for a long time, particularly Together Alone from 1993 which is their best, I think. Quote
Leen2112 Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 My new favorite band...from Australia. A bit Faith no more and Zappa with some metal..excellent stuff. Been busy have you?? Quote
timmo Posted November 7, 2016 Posted November 7, 2016 I was having a bit of a 60`s psychedelic moment and came across The Sacred Mushroom, with the album being the same name. So I am listening to them at the moment Quote
crag42 Posted November 8, 2016 Posted November 8, 2016 Robin Trower. Really getting into him lately. Great new album and tons of back catalogue to get into. Superb stuff Quote
lowdown Posted November 12, 2016 Posted November 12, 2016 This morning, 'Night Fly' - Donald Fagen. It never bores me. Everything about it is so good. I met up with a fellow Basschater for Coffee and lunch the other day. He told me he hated the album and it was 'Terrible Jazz W*****g'. You stupid boy - You know who you are. Apart from that, a good lunch. We must do it again. Quote
Roland Rock Posted November 24, 2016 Posted November 24, 2016 Kate Tempest - Let them eat chaos It's one of the best albums I've heard for a very long time. Her poetry/lyrics and delivery are astounding, perfectly backed by a lo-first synth soundtrack. Quote

Thanks for the tip I've been pleasantly surprised to discover that the new Metallica album actually doesn't completely suck. The drum sound is absurd, mind. Quote
