bartelby Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 Just listening to the new Alpha Male Tea Party album. It's a bit good!! Quote
yorks5stringer Posted July 3, 2017 Posted July 3, 2017 Decided to revisit the 80's with the first 3 Deacon Blue Albums: Raintown, Where the World knows your Name and Fellow Hoodlums. Got all 3 off eBay secondhand for less than £5 and loving Ewen Vernall's basslines. Also 'All the Roadrunning' by Knopfler and Emmy-Lou: very mellow and addictive. Quote

ivansc Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 Wet Willie Keep on smiling. Saw them do this live at Summer Lights in Nashville back in the 80s. Jimmy was and still is a killer front man singer and harp player. I'll try and post a good video of them doing this. Quote
Barking Spiders Posted July 4, 2017 Posted July 4, 2017 Currently stuck in an 80s-90s hip hop timewarp playing loads of Eric B & Rakim, EPMD, Boogie Down Productions and Public Enemy's more recent albums Quote

Enjoy your journey of SD discovery. Quote
BrunoBass Posted August 5, 2017 Posted August 5, 2017 The new remastered 30th anniversary reissue of Def Leppard's 'Hysteria'. Absolute rock / pop genius. Great songs and amazing production from a band who weren't afraid to want to be massive and make a multi million seller. It's very much if it's time, very 'eighties' but hasn't dated one bit. Fantastic stuff. Quote
kendall Posted August 6, 2017 Posted August 6, 2017 Fields of the Nephilim on shuffle. Off on a 12 mile trail run, only Carl McCoy and a Collie for company. Quote

mikel Posted August 7, 2017 Posted August 7, 2017 5.15am, Mark Knopfler. Such a moving song about the contrast between the "One arm bandit men" from the Smoke and the Tyneside coal miners in the 60s. Magic. Quote

In fact I imagine that many here will hate them But I personally find them very refreshing - a band (if you can call them that) that's actually saying something at a time when it's most needed. Raw as hell and exceedingly British. I love it.
I'm enjoying their new album. Everyone I know thinks they're dreadful but I find them very refreshing. Quote
