I'm hearing and trying not to listen to rubbish coming out of my daughter's laptop. So far she's play something called fireflys which has buckets of autotune and some tracks from glee which also have buckets of autotune. Kill me now.

I want a yellow jumper with a tie knitted into the front now

edit - preferably one that doesn't show up manboobs as much as the one the trumpet player in the video is wearing

that's the tragedy these days... those kids singing in Glee are perfectly capable of carrying the tunes without autotune, but because the American public has become used to the sound of autotune, they expect it in everything and now complain that stuff that isn't using autotune doesn't sound right.

anyway... was youtubing earlier on and hit on "The Arrows" original of "I Love Rock n Roll"... sheer heaven... no wonder that guitar riff sounds so good when Joan Jett plays it... it was originally a Bass riff...

The Wurzels.

I'm thinking of doing a heavy Wurzels tribute - 'Metal Scrumpy' or 'Electric Cider'

I'll get my coat...

I have always been kind of a fan of Rammstein but really like one of their most recent songs.

Ich tu dir weh

(Rather nice if you get past the craziness)

Sorry but Fireflies is a brilliantly well written song!

:)

Well I'm effing sick of it, its nursery rhyme melody, sing-song lyrics and everything overcompressed and autotuned. Horrible characterless drivel (IMHO).

For the last few days I've been listening to The Cribs - Mirror Kissers on repeat, though. Brilliant song, full of energy

With you all the way there JLP. I loathe that tune, I retune the radio as soon as there is even a hint of it being played.

Myself is listening to some Stevie Ray Vaughan.

No Frills - Nik Kershaw

A man, a guitar, a looper occasionally, and his songs stripped bare and an enjoyable listen that works well in the pared down version IMO

A load of Pogues stuff. I've just joined a Pogues tribute band. Teeth are on order from http://www.billybobteeth-direct.co.uk/

And, and, The Chieftains featuring Ry Cooder, San Patrizio. Extraordinary.
