Barking Spiders Posted April 13, 2021 Posted April 13, 2021 Back in the day PJ were pretty wild live. Not for them shoegazing! 1 Quote

Nail Soup Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 (edited) Listening on catch up to 6Music - Gideon Coe's bible-themed special (5th April). A mix of secular and non-secular songs with a bible reference. Here's a gospel choice - Doris Troy , "Jacobs Ladder". Nice bass line. Edited April 14, 2021 by Nail Soup Quote
Baloney Balderdash Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 (edited) Just discovered this band and album! Reminds me a lot of Fall of Efrafa, and somewhat of Thee Silver Mt. Zion Memorial Orchestra, but then again Fall of Efrafa was partially inspired by Godspeed You! Black Emperor, so that adds up... Edited April 14, 2021 by Baloney Balderdash Quote

TrevorR Posted April 14, 2021 Posted April 14, 2021 In a jazzy mood while making dinner. Just had Dave Brubeck’s Time Out album and now The Sidewinder by Lee Morgan. Love this tune! 2 Quote
mike f Posted April 15, 2021 Posted April 15, 2021 Watching, and listening intently to, Joni Mitchell -Shadows and Light. Good Lord, I'd forgotten how good this was. Quote
Barking Spiders Posted April 15, 2021 Posted April 15, 2021 Yesterday I picked up a Glitter Band greatest hits for £3. Bargain! When I was around 9 or 10 I used to nick my older sister's Glam 45s which included a lot of GB tunes. And they're mostly top quality pop-rock. It's such a shame they've been tarnished by their former employer's rep that they no longer get any airplay. I think this was their biggest hit 2 Quote
