FinnDave Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 Currently listening to the beautiful sound of 100s of small birds in the trees outside our house. Can't work out a time signature or key, though. 2 Quote

Richard R Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 This popped up on the Spotify "Discover " playlist. Never liked or been interested in Iron Maiden, but this is excellent. Not sure if the link will work, but it's "Prodigal Son", from "Killers" 2 Quote
Nail Soup Posted September 10, 2021 Posted September 10, 2021 This song really caught my ear, great sound and great chorus. The Fixer by The Bug Club: 1 Quote

Amazing record........ in that the cheerful tune and jaunty bassline are totally at odds with the tragic nature of the lyrics. Quote
Nail Soup Posted September 11, 2021 Posted September 11, 2021 The new album by Amyl and the Sniffers: Great Australian punk! Quote

Interesting new sound from Low methinks, based on the couple heard so far. Good that they are not stuck in a rut even after all these years. 1 Quote

Having got into a ‘Top 20 Albums’ type conversation with a friend, I will probably be listening to one of these shortly: So; Ah Via Musicom; Physical Graffiti; Sunburst Finish; Continuum; Argus; Bad Co; Moving Pictures; No Parlez; Rio; Regatta de Blanc; The Royal Scam; Gold Plated; Crosby Stills Nash; Rumours; Robben Ford & The Blue Line; Lean Into It; Houses of the Holy; Us; Communique. To say he was seriously sartorially challenged is an understatement. The music was good and the anorak was disgusting. Steve Earle used to be good, I’ve seen him many times and played many of his songs live, but he’s turned into an opinionated bore. Emmylou was, and still is, great. Quote
gareth Posted September 14, 2021 Posted September 14, 2021 (edited) I’m not sure what you’re saying about Peter Bruntnell but I’ve got most of his cds and I’ve seen him live in small venues twice I think he is a great undiscovered talent regarding Steve Earle as with everything for me it’s the music that counts and I like his music - it doesn’t matter to me whether “he’s turned into an opinionated bore” as long as “opinionated bore”s are talented, write and sing songs that I like that’s all that matters and I’m more than happy to listen to them and buy their music Edited September 14, 2021 by gareth Quote
