This morning I discovered that Matt Freeman from Rancid has a new band called Charger. They've got an album called Summon The Demon which is a solid punk/metal crossover. There's hints of Motorhead and Iron Maiden. The bass is fairly restrained for Matt but occasionally his genius breaks out.

Can't get enough of disco-funk from the late 70s/early 80s at the mo'. Here's a tidbit from The Kaygees, formed by the younger brother of Ronald and 'Kool' Bell of Kool and the Gang and mentored by Ronald. Unsurprisingly it sounds like early KATG.

Confession time. That's the first time I've ever heard Shpongle and I thought  they were great! Will be delving deeper into their back catalogue and I'll also be having a look at the two acts you've mentioned 👍
