Not right now, but earlier, on Radio 2, Vernon Kay played a version of "We Will Rock You" as a 12 bar blues, from an old BBC session Queen did. It was quite the difference from the usual version.

Loving this band at the moment.... like the best Steely Dan, mixed with classic NY jazz and a pop sensibility. Hugely recommend their last 3 albums and this track is sublime in its relaxing feel, atmosphere and evocativeness... Enjoy :)

A man after my own heart. Monkey House are one of the best bands I have heard in many a long year. Great players making fabulous music. ❤️

From the John Peel Session in 1977 - at 1:43:55

Hadn’t realised it was a Peel session. I first heard it on Alan Freeman’s Saturday afternoon show and always assumed it was from that.

I taped the show and listened to it loads as it had a Bowie track on (can’t remember which one) and also Phil Manzanera’s 801 doing Remote Control.

Good times!

Fall Out Boy’s cover of ‘We didn’t start the fire’ has been living rent free in my head all day. I certainly didn’t expect Boris Johnson/Brexit/Cambridge Analytica references from FOB!
