KingPrawn Posted October 25, 2024 Posted October 25, 2024 The Necks new album Bleed is another stunning piece of music Quote

xgsjx Posted October 30, 2024 Posted October 30, 2024 Listened to Nemahsis’ debut album today. 10/10! Quite possibly the best album of 2024 & it’s really an emotional & creative work. Quote
Frank Blank Posted November 7, 2024 Posted November 7, 2024 Bloody hell, Soul Coughing. The only band (IMHO) who released three albums without a duff track amongst them. I had no idea they'd reformed, good job I suppose as it saved me a flight to the US. I am praying they'll put out another album 🙏 2 Quote

NancyJohnson Posted November 8, 2024 Posted November 8, 2024 I'm rotating a couple of artists. #1 Bobbie Dazzle (kind of homage to 70s Glam Rock; it kind of reminds me of The Darkness crossed with The Time Warp) and #2 Rosalie Cunningham (which is just interestingly different...lots of decent time/key changes). SteveXFR Posted November 9, 2024 Posted November 9, 2024 New Cure record. They've always been a band who I sort of enjoyed but I wasn't really a fan. This new record is absolutely brilliant. The bass tone on this is absolutely filthy 3 Quote
diskwave Posted November 9, 2024 Posted November 9, 2024 (edited) This very minute? Mrs Disc just clicked on this as we potter in the lounge. Super tune. Edited November 9, 2024 by diskwave Quote
TrevorR Posted November 10, 2024 Posted November 10, 2024 In the Beginning - the debut album from Big Horizon (basically the guys from Jeff Lynne’s ELO and Take That’s backing band). Picked it up at their debut gig on Friday. Damn, it’s good. Yacht Rock/Steely Dan/Hall & Oats/Andrew Gold vibe. 1 Quote
urbanx Posted November 11, 2024 Posted November 11, 2024 Ren. Not what I'd usually listen too, but I'm completely blown away. Genre defying, in a Bohemian Rhapsody kind of way. The video is all one continuous shot too. Incredible. Quote

tegs07 Posted November 15, 2024 Posted November 15, 2024 Playing the new cure album a lot. First listen was a bit meh. OK but nothing special. It’s really grown on me. Best thing they have released since Disintegration. Some of the lyrics really resonate as I am getting a little older. Quote

Exactly the same as I found it, it went from 'meh, its ok' to one of my favourites very quickly although pretty sad - "and Im outside in the dark, looking at a blood red moon, remembering the hopes and dreams i had and all I had to do, and wondering what became of that boy and the world he called his own, and Im outside in the dark, wondering how I got so old, its all gone". Quite a long way from 'just like heaven' 2 Quote
