The Admiral Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Just bought UFO's new compilation - "The Chrysalis Years" - a 5 disc retrospective, which takes in the albums from 1973 - 1979, with some unreleased live tracks. Amazon are doing it for £11.99 - maybe one for your Christmas list, and a great reminder of what a fantastic rock band they were. A live version of 'Lights Out' from 1975, with Michael Schenker on guitar and Pete Way playing a P bass (I think - maybe blue?) - rather than the thunderbird I'd always associated him with. bartelby Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 Just reviewing some of the video I took at the Supersonic Festival last weekend (Mike Watt, Antilles, Pharaoh Overlord, Electric Wizard and a couple of others). I think I may have found the audio limits to what my little Lumix can cope with. Quote
Monckyman Posted October 30, 2011 Posted October 30, 2011 "Into the great wide yonder" by Trentemoller. Not much in the way if bass playing but if you like dub rhythms and shrieking Surftastic guitars with a Danish Euro sensibility then you`ll love this. Some excellent guest vocals too. Had it on all day. Quote

Who's Who Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 (edited) Been going back to Revolver and Rubber Soul recently. You can really loose yourself in these albums and they still sound so current. Plus if you treat them both as two sides to one album they're just amazing! Edited November 23, 2011 by Who's Who Quote
Wil Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 I was listening to both those albums earlier, oddly enough! I can't get into Rubber Soul as much as Revolver, for some reason. I've been mainly listening to Pet Sounds though lately - it has to be my favourite album of all time, it just gets better with every listen. Quote
seashell Posted November 24, 2011 Posted November 24, 2011 Last night I gave Teaser and the Firecat (Cat Stevens) a spin. Lovely. I wish the Peace Train really was coming. Sigh .. Quote
