Jean-Luc Pickguard
I'm checking out the competition on the http://orangeunsignedact.co.uk site. Waynepunkdude has uploaded a couple of his "the plan" tracks including one that I've been pogoing to gently in my chair. There are lots of bands already on the site, some and some not so, so I'm sure a bunch of old f@rts like my lot: obviously 5 believers don't stand much chance of getting through. Its very heartening to know that there are plenty of bands about that still play real instruments and write their own songs rather than all the Simon Cowell karaoke competitions that usually get shown on telly. I agree I don't think either of us will get far we just don't fit the mould but a bit of exposure never hurt anyone. I did enjoy your songs man. Jean-Luc Pickguard
Cheers Wayne - It'd be great to see your lot getting through to the finals or indeed any basschatter's band - I particularly enjoyed your myspace song - it reminded me of my UK Subs coloured vinyl 7' singles. bnt
Another podcast: This American Life. An episode called The Break-Up, which is about... never mind. In the first segment, a (female) reporter is obsessing about the Phil Collins song Against All Odds, and decides to write her own "breakup song". So she gets Phil on the phone (not easy), and they end up commiserating about their respective breakups... awww.
