One of my all time favourites of 80s dance music. I've got an original 12" of this somewhere. They went on to become The Future Sound of London. Another class act of the era. Quote
seashell Posted September 18, 2012 Posted September 18, 2012 This: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A0kypyGSKsE My luvly teecha taught me the bass line at my last lesson. I'd never heard it before. Now I love it so much I can't stop playing it. Trouble is I should really be practising some other stuff for the band... Quote

BILL POSTERS Posted September 23, 2012 Posted September 23, 2012 Dr Feelgood, Chess Masters. Only bought it last week & hadnt heard it before, but its been on constantly since. I know a lot of people knock the Feelgoods as being just a Tribute act these days, but this really is good. Theres not a duff track on it, altthough the 'recorded live in the studio' sounds like a bit of an exaggeration. Phil Mitchell really is a good solid Rock n Roll Bass player of the first order, http://www.drfeelgood.de/cd_chess.htm Quote

spinynorman Posted September 27, 2012 Posted September 27, 2012 Just rediscovered Steve Hackett - Voyage of the Acolyte studio and some live versions. Very prog, but some nice tunes and wonderfully strong bass on the live archive cds. Quote
Angel Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 Just bought James Durands Bass-tastic album off of iTunes. I absolutely bl**dy love it! I feel so inspired to really get back into bass after a couple of years in the doldrums. I love his whole slapping style, and for me, he really uses it to drive the songs rather than being just a bit of a 'gimmick style' in the way that some people seem to treat slapping. I can't remember when I last enjoyed an album this much. James is a member here, but I can't remember his forum name .... Quote

paulconnolly Posted September 28, 2012 Posted September 28, 2012 La Futura - ZZ Top. Great new album but a little on the short side (less than 40mins I think) when compared to...... Joy Through Amplification - Bill Nelson - in anticipation of N12 tomorrow (must be well over an hours worth of music here). Wrong - Nomeansno - of to the gig next week so need to reaquaint myself. Awesome stuff. Quote
