Stealth
The new batch of 100w valve heads: Ampeg V4B Ashdown CTM 100 Fender Bassman Loud enough for pubs n clubs with no PA support. Rock music drummer no a massive hitter ?
Roland Rock
Assuming you're not putting it through a 1x8 cab, yes!

Ashdown Engineering
Can only speak regarding the CTM-100 but that should be certainly loud enough
Lozz196
I can`t see a 100w valve head connected to a good 212/410 not cutting it for pub gigs.
Merton
Can only speak regarding the CTM-100 but that should be certainly loud enough
I concur, I run one through one or two Barefaced Super Compacts and it's immense. Best amp I've used
Telebass
Since I got my Super 15, I've often wondered how much air I could shift with two of them and a V4B...
Badass
Saw a guy play bass through a Hiwatt 50 watt valve job in the late seventies, no PA support and a 4 x 12 cab. He nearly knocked me off my feet in our local... Bet they were valve watts, and at the risk of getting lessons on this....IMHO a valve watt is worth three tranny jobs Edited June 28, 2014 by Badass

My Burman 100W valve amp is very loud indeed. I play in a rock band and the master is never at more than 10 o'clock. It can go silly loud. TheRockinRoadie
I use a CTM100 with a three piece band (hard hitting drummer) and don't have any problems. PA just helps to balance things overall - i don't rely on it for volume!
Happy Jack
I've been using my Matamp for about a year now, running through a Barefaced 69er usually. The volume control has never once got past 12 o'clock. For many of the pub gigs I play, I still use an OTB500 into a Barefaced Compact or Midget. That never gets past 12 o'clock either! Lozz196
12 o`clock on an OTB is kill-the-ears volume Jack, phasers definitely not set to stun!
Sean
I'm having a 200w valve head made and have specified it so that it's switchable down to 100w and 50w for smaller venues so that I can get the full drive of the power section without demolishing the building we're playing in. I find that with my 400+ its best sounds don't come until it's way too loud.

Was trying a Squier in Wunjo a while ago and they put me through one paired with a 2x12 - it was like dying and going to tone heaven. Stealth
It is pretty aŵesome thats the rig i have. My only gripe at £1800 some pop out wheels would be nice save the old back
Thurbs
I hear the "its loud" message, but I got the same with the LB30... and it isn't (loud that is) and itisn't gigable other than with some church mice. Does anyone have any live recordings from the audiances perspective?

BluRay
I've just had a major GAS blowout and ordered a CTM 100. I hope to report back in a few weeks with how it fairs in a loud band setting.
hubrad
I was just looking round at such things.. PMT online must have the limited edition model - only seems to weight 1kg! http://www.pmtonline.co.uk/ashsown-ctm-100-valve-bass-head.html
