Billy Apple
Yup. I made a bass from a cricket bat that I registered with the ICC
icastle
It's not a new design, just an alternative use for an existing item. I doubt you could successfully register this with the patent office even if you were determined enough to pay the initial £60 charge. Paul S
Ironic that it is made from a stick used for hurling, as that is what felt like doing when I saw it. Lets hope he doesn't have a shillelagh knocking about anywhere.
wotsy
Damn pity it's patented, I was just about to rush out n make one for myself, suppose I'll just have to buy this one now...

flyfisher
Yes, that sentence made me smile I'm torn about this sort of thing. On the one hand it's a fugly looking thing and a waste of a good piece of firewood but on the other hand the guy has at least shown some inventiveness and initiative so good luck to him. I wonder what the reaction would have been if eBay had been around when Leo put together his first electric bass?
SubsonicSimpleton
Perfect for those gigs where the landlord/father of the bride is reluctant to pay the band and needs a little percussive attitude adjustment therapy to loosen his wallet.
