It's not a new design, just an alternative use for an existing item.

I doubt you could successfully register this with the patent office even if you were determined enough to pay the initial £60 charge.

Yes, that sentence made me smile :D

I'm torn about this sort of thing. On the one hand it's a fugly looking thing and a waste of a good piece of firewood but on the other hand the guy has at least shown some inventiveness and initiative so good luck to him.

I wonder what the reaction would have been if eBay had been around when Leo put together his first electric bass?
