kevpilk
is it me or has it become harder to spot a genuine bass on e bay, to many copies or fakes ,
bubinga5
possibly.there are so many amazing looking bogus basses out there. but to know what to look for is key. if your buying and you want to be sure, some guys on BC will know without doubt, if it is a fake. SlapbassSteve
You definitely have to scroll past a lot of [s]Squier[/s] Fenders. That really bothers me. If it says Squier on the headstock that's nothing to be ashamed of. And if you've put a naff blag Fender logo on it because you think it adds value, then you need to have a word with yourself. I wonder if eBay need someone to write up some guidelines for selling basses... There are millions of fakes though, it's mad. Interesting though how it doesn't seem to affect the value of the genuine basses, something the CEO of Rickenbacker really needs to take note of. [/quote] Except of course, it does add value if someone thinks it is a fender. You can have two identical basses that look the same and sound the same but if one says fender on the headstock you will get a few more hundred quid for it. Grangur
At least it's being sold honestly. If it had had a right handed neck and a more realistic logo would the owner have been so honest? It would certainly be tempting to try your luck to get more for it.
BigRedX
Plenty of genuine basses on eBay if you can see past the need to have something Fender shaped.
