Adebass Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 (edited) Hello all! I'm looking to get myself a new bass. It'll be my first brand new one. I've been looking at a Ibanez SR1200 but it is more than what I need, and a grand! So I started looking around. I don't want to spend to much, around £500 budget. I was wondering if anyone would/could point me in the right direction. I'd consider 2nd hand, but I want to go and have a look in the shops and have a play of a few and compare them, but like I say, I'm after a rough idea of where to start. If it's any help I have a P bass and an rbx260 and prefer the rbx for less weight and fast neck, in my opinion. Also I'll be using this bass as a nice one for at home, and to gig with too, nothing heavy just pubs and such. Sorry for the long post, hope this is the right place to post. Thanks! jezzaboy Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 If you want an Ibby, I would look for a SR500. They come in just under £500 but you can pick them up s/h on here for around £300. Damm good bass with Barts instead of Ibanez pickups. The thing with Ibanez is, you rarely get a bad one, their qc seems to be good. Quote
Mudpup Posted June 30, 2014 Posted June 30, 2014 (edited) Theres an SR3000 just popped up on here tonight - that would be worth a look. Ps its not mine Edited June 30, 2014 by Mudpup Quote
Adebass Posted June 30, 2014 Author Posted June 30, 2014 Thanks for the replies! Yeah the 500's look like a good choice but I thought I'd ask people with a bit more knowledge than myself! Just saw the 3000, I've got in touch with the chap who's selling it! Thanks again! Quote
Adebass Posted July 1, 2014 Author Posted July 1, 2014 Bought a 500 today! Had to be ordered in so looking forward to it. Had a try on a 300 though and really liked it, thought I'd go a step up and get the 500, cheers all! Quote
