Annoying Twit
I'm in Edinburgh until very early Wednesday morning. If anyone spots any unstoppable collection only bass bargains, please tell me Edited June 30, 2014 by Annoying Twit
kodiakblair
Nothing really outstanding AT. There's a fretless Vintage V9 in Musselburgh but it's kinda dear £180. And a coffee table RavenWest in Walnut for £200,this has been for sale for ages so might be up for negotiation. Both on Gumtree 5 mile radius of Edinburgh City centre Better luck with the kayaks. Sevylor 240 explorer oars and pump £50 07841502971 just went up a few hours back. Anything else I'll post it bit of a bugger though laptop fried last night so trying to use a tablet. Enjoy Auld Reekie
Annoying Twit
Hmmm.... The kayak appears to be a bargain, but I was semi-joking about the bass as I'd have to carry it back on trains and things. And, today I finally have the (self-limited) budget to buy a brand new Harley Benton fretless if I wanted to, or if I borrow a month's personal budget from myself most of the Squier VMJs I see on ebay. I thought about it, but I must ... resit ... temptation
kodiakblair
Better carrying a bass on the train than a kayak, even an inflatable. ;-) That's some dilemma you've set yourself. The Benton or the Squier or solve it by buying the Benton try it for the week,if you like it great if not send it back and try your luck with a Squier. You picked a great time to be in Edinburgh, sunshine every day.
Annoying Twit
The dilemma is pretty much solved. I have tried the Squier, and prefer the ebanol fretboard to the generic rosewood feel that I'd guess the HB would have. (Not that a generic feel is unreasonable at that price). However, it's now been mentioned that a Rockbass Corvette fretless has an ebony board. If the electronics on it make a decent sound, that's an option. kodiakblair
I can't fault the ebanol fretboard on the Curbow. Good luck with the Squier.
