Delberthot
Hi All I've recently done two changes at once - I've changed from Legacy roundwounds to Roto flats and also done the mod from 9v - 18v on my EMGs. The thing is that I now have to turn up the volume on my amp to be at the same volume as i was at before. I used to have the volume on 4 but now I need it on 6 to get the same output. Is it likely to the that the strings have a lower output or something but I'm not sure how that works or is it that the EMGs now have loads of headroom so are cleaner and somehow it's making them quieter? Thunderbird
I would think it was the strings can you put the Legacy ones back on to see if it cures the problem then at least you can eliminate strings as being the issue
Lozz196
I`ve always found that when I`ve put flats on I need to up the volume on the amp from where it was with rounds. Perfectly normal in my experience.
discreet
I`ve always found that when I`ve put flats on I need to up the volume on the amp from where it was with rounds.
Yes, this. Flats don't have the same harmonic shiz going on, thus they seem to be quieter.
