action_panzer
OK, I know this isn't going to be a common thing, but for some reason I've always really liked Cronos' bass sound (at points, even playing...) on the first 3 Venom albums, at war with satan in particular. Growly and warbley and clankey at the same time - I've never come close to recreating it - any ideas? And if anyone comes back with 'just find your own sound, man'....I like to figure out other people's sounds, I have my own sound too - is that okay? K thx bye! Conan
Dunno about his gear choices, but I do know how fecking loud he was!! My band at the time used to use the rehearsal room next door to Venom back in around 1987, and even when we were playing we could still hear/feel them through the walls!! And Cronos' mum (Esme) used to come and see us in another one of my bands. How cool is that?!
action_panzer
That, Conan, is just about as cool as its gets. THAT'S how cool it is!! Were they as bad, musically, as everyone says?

They weren't exactly Dream Theatre, to be fair, but not too bad
Dandelion
I believe Mr Lunt played throught a guitar amp with blown speakers initially. That is where the uniquely scary noise came from. I like his bass playing.
RAY AGAINST THE MACHINE
Funny thing was, fender made a cronos bass. Can't remember the model name as such. The higher part of the neck was fretless. Think it had LEDs too.
