Guest MoJo
I'm loving my new BB5N. Fitted with the Area J pickups, it sounds great. On thing I'm not enamoured with is the bridge. It's a substantial piece of metal, it has to be with 19mm string spacing and although I'd had no issues, I don't like the way the outer saddle height adjustment screws don't run in grooves and are so close to the edge of the base plate, about 2-3mm. I've thought about replacing them with individual bridges but would appreciate the opinion of anyone that has made the change before I do. Thanks
Pete1967
Individual bridges can be a right faff to fit and align. Get it wrong and it can end up looking a bit odd! The accepted wisdom is that they eliminate string to string cross talk, but for all practical purposes the advantage is minimal in my experience. If you want to upgrade the bridge to something more adjustable then my recommendation would be a Schaller 2000.
