Roland Micro Cube Advice

Suddenly found out there is no PA at an acoustic event I'm doing this Saturday... (clue was in the acoustic bit of the event title really...)

Are these Roland Micro Cubes any good? as in, can you actually get any bass frequencies out of it or is it all just burpy mid range honk?

I had a Cube 20XL a few years ago and you would get away with it. But only just. The amp modelling made a significant difference too.

I had the micro cube a while - didn't get a lot out of it with any passive P's or J's - just about liveable sounds with an active, overall not impressed.

But then - I'm a grumpy old git who likes a bass to sound like a bass

Me too... it's only ever going to come up short really isn't it, it's just too small.

Nothing else for it, I'm going to have to lug one of my cabs on the train.

Silly question (but I've been caught out before) is there any power that you can plug into?

Yeah there is power.. allegedly...

Its more a case of wanting something small enough to carry with me on public transport.

+1- I remember I did an audition a few years ago with a folk band: me with a Microcube and a Stagg upright, they went through a PA and I was hardly able to be heard..did not get the gig !
