CamdenRob
Suddenly found out there is no PA at an acoustic event I'm doing this Saturday... (clue was in the acoustic bit of the event title really...) Are these Roland Micro Cubes any good? as in, can you actually get any bass frequencies out of it or is it all just burpy mid range honk? Mudpup
I had a Cube 20XL a few years ago and you would get away with it. But only just. The amp modelling made a significant difference too.
KiOgon
I had the micro cube a while - didn't get a lot out of it with any passive P's or J's - just about liveable sounds with an active, overall not impressed. But then - I'm a grumpy old git who likes a bass to sound like a bass

Nothing else for it, I'm going to have to lug one of my cabs on the train.

KiOgon
PJB stuff I'm told is very good but it's not cheap 'you get what you pay for'
DiscoTetak
If acoustic guitar's aren't amplified, you have nothing to fear of. Roland Microcube RX will deliver!

[/quote] +1- I remember I did an audition a few years ago with a folk band: me with a Microcube and a Stagg upright, they went through a PA and I was hardly able to be heard..did not get the gig !
