Beedster
Bought a few months back but now surplus to requirement. One or two BC members have expressed an interest but no firm takers yet so I'm listing it here. The battery compartment requires some work due to a previous owner having allowed a battery to leak, but I've bypassed the existing compartment so that al you see is 2cms of battery cable, and I've gigged it many times without problem. It's a 15 minute job to fix but I haven't got around to it, and the prrice takes this into account anyway It's a lovely instrument, typical Yamaha design and quality. Soft case included. No trades please. This is a quality piece of kit and they don't come up for sale very often The wiring/battery clip issue, not really a biggy Edited July 22, 2014 by Beedster

Beedster
Bump for pics which I had completely forgotten to post Having just checked it over and played it, I an't overstate what a fantastic instrument this is, typical Yamaha quality and attention to detail, and a great portable backup/electric solution for the serious DB player or the bass guitarist wanting a high quality upright instrument. I picked this up at a bargain price so I'm moving it on at the same price, but it's worth at least twice what I'm asking. kevin_lindsay
If I hadn't just incurred a walletfull of car repair bills, I'd have snapped this up! Fantastic instrument. I used to own the slightly larger SLB100 model, and I still miss it. Whoever grabs this will love it!

Cars eh Having owned this and the SLB-100 - and despite Yamaha's rather odd retail price policy in relation to the two - the 200 is a substantially better instrument on all fronts, better tone, better playability and, importantly given the nature of EUBs, far better portability. I did like the 100 but boy it was big, heavy and sounded pretty awful through the stock preamp. The 200 suffers from none of those issues C C
Beedster
Quick response to some PMs. The battery issue is a non-issue, it just needs a new plastic battery sleeve inside the compartment and I simply haven't got around to doing this yet. It does not affect the preamp or function in any way, if it wasn't for the fact that I ran the cable outside of the unit you wouldn't know there was a problem. Second, I cannot post so this is collection or meet up only, sorry if this is harsh but I have my reasons and I'm sticking to this. If meet up I'd need payment ahead of travelling. Yeah, the standard preamp on the SLB-100 did have an inherent "clunkiness" to it. I sold mine to Oroh Angiama when he was playing for Corinne Bailey Rae and Nitin Sawney. He soon had his eye on the SLB-200 for the reasons you quoted.
