Booked on a Session (In your dreams)

A keyboard player friend of mine has an interesting Facebook subject going on
at the moment, about being booked on a session/ gig on an Instrument
that you CAN'T play. The thing is, it's only a dream.

I have had this from time to time, being booked on Trumpet (which I can not play at all).
Standing there in a full section (both Jazz & Orchestral). just making horrible noises,
and not one person saying a thing.

I am not sure what this is all about, anyone else had these dreams?

Sort of, however I can always play the instruments. I also have similar ones about skateboarding where I am really really great.

I have a similar thing but its in the lucid world not the dream one, where I come off stage thinking I played really well, and then a few days later I see a vid of the gig and the horrible truth hits me.......

I have had a recurring dream where I am auditioning to play bass in metallica, it's a bit wierd, but it kind if feels like the post newsted days. The only trouble is, I can't remember how to play any of the songs!!! It's horrendous stood thee in front of the idols trying to blag their songs!!

Once dreamt that I came on stage riding an elephant and playing the flute in front of a huge audience.
I can't play the flute and as far as I know I can't ride an elephant, either (unless you count the current mrs discreet).

No doubt Freud would say it's due to some deep-seated childhood trauma, and he's probably right.

I've had a similar dream where I'm mid gig and the strings on my bass have no tension and the neck of the bass comes loose.
