Looks like I spoke too soon.

Sorry for the blurry image.....

Merton, as you can see I went for the silver cloth grille, but after seeing the photo of them in the shop., I'm kind almost wishing I went for the black!

I have tried them at low volume and sound good as a pair (neighbours aren't keen on the noise) - really light too which is what I wanted. Just waiting for Monday night when I can really put them through their paces!

I'm happy to meet up whenever you want - would love to try your Super Compact!

  • 8 months later...

2 Retro210 cabs at 12 ohms looks like 6 ohms to an amp, so that will work because it is above the 4 ohm min, and 3 Retro210 cabs are fine because they re 4 ohms.

Unless you're running your amp flat out I wouldn't expect there to be any difference in volume between 4 ohms and 6 ohms, but more speakers will add volume.

If anyone is running their amp at full volume they need a bigger amp.

Edit:
PS advice for non valve amps only.

You may even be able to run four 12ohm cabs = 3ohms - which isn't too much effort for a 4ohm amp. Having said that I doubt you'd ever need to run four cabs...

Of course there's an 8x10 for that.... ;)

... but true (unless two or more 8 x 10's are envisaged...).

I'm starting to imagine the band 'Disaster Area' in Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy using more than two 8x10s
