He has worked with artists from Dolly Parton to Ray Charles. Sklar studied music at California State University, Northridge. It was during that time he met James Taylor who invited him to play bass at some venues. They both thought that the work would be short-term, but soon Taylor's career took off with his first hit record, and Sklar came into the limelight. He was soon asked to record with others, and his long career began. In 2010 Sklar joined the Troubadour Reunion Tour accompanying James Taylor and Carole King. [/list] [b]How to enter:[/b][list] [*] Upload a video of you playing bass to gigg.com, this can be an original song, cover, or mashup. [i](Videos must show you performing. No slideshows, lyric videos, etc.)[/i] [*]Videos must be uploaded by August 8, 2014 at 5pm EST. (only one submission per user, so upload your best performance!) The latter is certainly a great skill, but the time with Lee Skylar would, IMHO, be better value to a musician.
