mumra
Hallo to all.I have an ampeg svt4pro head and i find here in greece a guy that wants to trade it with an svt 2 pro. What is your opinion?
molan
Personally I much prefer the 2 to the 4 but the 2 is a heavy beast. Need to check that the valves are in very good condition because a complete re-valve on a 2 can be big money
mumra
OK.Thanks.I like the 4 pro (except that i cant get the watts that can give) Someday i would like to have an all tube amp and i am an Ampeg fun.
mumra
noone else.the guy said that he put off the "springs " that hold the tubes cause this springs may broke the tubes.
dave74200
The 2 pro is better than the 4 IMO but it's ludicrously heavy.
Anders
The 2 pro is better than the 4 IMO but it's ludicrously heavy.
I agree. If you can find out how well that 2 pro has been taken care of.If it's been serviced lately I wouldn't hesitate.
Billy Apple
The springs on the valve retainers should not break the valves. I have a Pro II and would not want to swap it despite the weight. His sound's like a lemon and maybe that's why he's trying to off-load it.
mike257
A bassist I tech for had no end of reliability issues with his SVT2s, old and new ones. After some coaxing from me and borrowing my lightweight head for a few shows he decided a change was in order. He's ended up going Aguilar and doesn't miss the SVT one bit. If your SVT4 is solid and reliable I don't think i'd risk a trade for an amp of unknown history that could be really expensive to maintain if you have problems with it. mumra
thanks to all.I decide not to trade it cause I dont know the history of the amp. Ill stay with my svt 4 pro and 410 HE cab. Now the only i ll try to find is an aria pro ii sb black n gold bass
