Thomann is doing the Cort Arona, which has a MM type pup and a jazz, and the new bottom of the range but quite well reviewed Sterling Subs both for reet cheap.( Cort £195 and sub £245). The Cort especially looks very nice, with some Sandberg hardware on it, and about half the original price, I guess the model bombed and they're selling off old stock, but even so, looks like a good deal.

I had a Cort Arona. Outstanding Bass. if you check through the Bass reviews I'm sure I posted one. Cort probably make the Sterling as well.

Cheers, Bassbunny, I did check out your write up, was it a rock friendly sound, found some funky clips on youtube, but I'm more of a basic finger thumper!!??

Difficult oneh as I am not really into rock. What I will say is that there are a great range of sounds available and I would be surpised if you couldn't get what you wanted out of it.
Stunning deal as it IS a Sandberg driven model for the price of a Squire.

Thanks, sure that humbucker will have some punch. Are they light weight basses, have read they are, I really want something as light as my jazz or lower (8 lb 5oz)? Cheers if you can remember!

From what I remember it was pretty light. If it wasn't for the fact that I had a number of basses with the same pickup combination, it would still be with me. I paid quite a bit more than that for it and considred it a steal.

They've got a B-Stock Arona for £181...

Indeed, saw that, for some reason the alder body ones are a bit cheaper than the swamp ash, assume the ash ones are probably a tad lighter, I've mailed Thomann.
