uncle psychosis Posted May 26, 2015 Posted May 26, 2015 Wow, incredible work. What's the fretboard radius? Looks really flat? Also, how do you go about adjusting two truss rods so that they work evenly? Really impressive stuff. Quote
blablas Posted May 26, 2015 Author Posted May 26, 2015 The fretboard is flat, I prefer the wider ones that way. Adjusting two trussrods is done in the same way as a single one, I start out with giving them roughly the same (light) tension, just by feel. And after that it depends on how hard the strings are pulling on them how much I need adjust them. Quote
blablas Posted May 27, 2015 Author Posted May 27, 2015 (edited) Top of the headstock with two coats of Danish oil. Nice teaser for how the top of the body will turn out! Edited August 6, 2017 by blablas Quote

PlungerModerno Posted May 29, 2015 Posted May 29, 2015 Nice. Don't rush the nut - it's going to be a fair amount of work to get it firing on all twelve cylinders! Quote
blablas Posted May 29, 2015 Author Posted May 29, 2015 Don't worry, what's an hour extra over almost 10 months time! Quote
blablas Posted May 30, 2015 Author Posted May 30, 2015 (edited) All but four holes are drilled. These last four will be done during assembly. But first... Sanding and oiling. Edited August 6, 2017 by blablas Quote
sblueplanet Posted May 30, 2015 Posted May 30, 2015 That is going to match so well with the headstock. Quote
blablas Posted May 30, 2015 Author Posted May 30, 2015 It should, both tops are coming from the same piece wood. Quote

PlungerModerno Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 Beautiful work - All the care and attention to detail with the flat surfaces, the carves and roundovers - and the transitions between them . . . It appears to be paying off. Oil finishes are beautiful when done right. Quote
alittlebitrobot Posted June 2, 2015 Posted June 2, 2015 wow, that finish is perfect. Can you describe your process and materials? Do you wet sand with oil or just wipe it on and let it dry between coats? Quote
