Painy
From what I can remember, around the time of Pornograffiti - Pat was using a Kramer Spector P/J bass and Mesa Boogie amp and cabs.
+1. I have the photograffitti DVD - basically all the music videos from the album. Not watched it for a few years but pretty sure it was the Spector he used in most of the vids. Could be just for filming of course but my old Spector could get fairly close to his tone when played with a pick.
krispn
As someone said email him or hit him up on twitter - his new band are putting out a fan funded album real soon, may even be out and as he's touring with Extreme- he could tell you what he's playing on the road now! He's been a big fan of this gear in the past. Mesa 400+ and Diesel cabs 3 8x10 GK cabs and a rack with two 2001-RB-II heads Spector, Washburn basses and Mouradian CS-75 Good luck! rogerstodge
Good luck with that matey, i remember having to learn Cupid's dead years ago, hard work for me that was, before the help of youtube. IIRC I used a limiter/enhancer and also a flanger thru a Hartke 4x10 combo, played on a '78 jazz bass, very close indeed, different album tho Edited July 21, 2014 by rogerstodge
RhysP
When I saw them in Newport on that tour I seem to remember him playing his Mouradian bass through SVTs. I remember it well because when the roadies were checking his basses I thought the sound was bloody awful, but when it was used in the context of the band it sounded huge. sykilz
Here's the signature bass, and an ad for the other Washburns at the time, it's still in the for sale section on here, though now very old listing....
