JJW
I saw this recently and found it hilarious, does anyone know any information about it http://rover.ebay.com/rover/1/710-53481-19255-0/1?icep_ff3=2&pub=5575090229&toolid=10001&campid=5337531593&customid=Bghhjbv&icep_item=131240204949&ipn=psmain&icep_vectorid=229508&kwid=902099&mtid=824&kw=lg
alyctes
Yes. If you think it's hilarious, you've never heard one. Think of it as a double bass in a violin-size package. It is not a bass guitar, just as a bass guitar is not a double bass. Edited July 19, 2014 by alyctes
Woodinblack
Not sure why hilarious, they are (or can be) pretty good things, good for carrying around, but not always the easiest things to play (because of the scale and rubbery strings)
Dad3353
have a look at this, maybe..? Ashbory Bass... They are a fairly respectable gadget, not really a toy. Not mainstream either, though; the 'P' bass is not in danger. Rickies..? I'm not so sure...
TheGreek
Great little basses that are far bassier than full size basses - the tiny little fretboards do take getting used to though and the white rubber strings are too sticky to play without a ton of talcum powder. The replacement black strings by ???? (don't worry, somebody will be along to fill the gap shortly) are a better option.

alyctes
Definitely, the Fender-made strings are both unpleasantly sticky and break if you look cross-eyed at them. The Pahoehoes are much better, and I have a set of Aquila Thunderguts - which apparently are better still - waiting to go on.
JJW
Ok, thanks. The video makes it look quite cool!
tauzero
I still have the silicone strings on mine and I don't use talc for them, just don't slide around the neck and use a rather violinish left-hand technique (fingers pointing along rather than across the strings). Beer of the Bass
I had one of these for a while. I must say, I never understood the double bass comparisons as it sounds much closer to a fretless bass guitar with flats IMO. It was a fun instrument, but I never really found a role for it that I didn't prefer another bass for.
