Jazzneck
I've just bought a second hand MIM 50s Classic Strat. Oh Dear...... Got it home and did the set up jobbie using the new strings that the seller had just fitted. No real problems, all is fine; however after setting the action and intonation, both with tuner and ears, I played it for a while and noticed that the bridge saddles were in an almost straight line, perpendicular to the strings. [attachment=167123:062.JPG] I've never seen this or anything close to this before - usually a zig-zag / sawtooth line up of saddles. Any ideas what's going on here? Is it paranormal? discreet
According to my book on the paranormal (I didn't buy it - it just appeared in my room one day) all the planets - and that thing that looks a bit like a potato - are currently lined up in a spooky and meaningful way, so anything could happen really. Woooohhhh!! I'm a ghost!!! *staggers round room with sheet over head* Edited July 20, 2014 by discreet
Thunderbird
Don't know but it looks nice and tidy
barkin
Perhaps I'm missing something here, but...if the intonation etc is OK, and it plays OK, does it matter ?
ahpook
This has happened to me once or twice when I've bought a new bass - eventually it settled down to something more like what I was expecting (staggered saddles). I'd say keep and eye on it and see if it shifts in the future.
