mark_random
When a 'trans Orangish' colour was mentioned I thought of a Fender colour number '22' which was Sunset Orange Transparent that was used for only a few years around 2003 / 2004 on USA Ash bodied basses. I have only ever seen the colour on one bass, a Precision that I had few a short while.............stunning looking bass as hopefully the attached shows!
I have this exact bass. Mine is a 2003 and easily the best bass I have ever played. I've said it before, but it's genuinely the only thing (the gf excluded) I would try and save in a fire. As for the Paramore bassist, up until recently he played Fender American Deluxe Jazz basses with the bottom horn sanded down quite considerably. On the latest tour, he's been playing Gibson Grabber basses exclusively.

If this is you then have a big welcome to Basschat. By the way, here is a pic of my son's Sunset Orange Transparent Jazz which he now no longer owns. It started life as a USA Series bass but was converted to fretless by legendary Scottish Luthier Jimmy Moon who shaved the maple fingerboard off and added a gorgeous piece of ebony. The white scratch plate was swapped out for a black one as it matched the fingerboard very nicely.
stingrayPete1977
If they made a 5 string Grabber I'd sell a Ray 5 to buy it
karlfer
Here's my 2002 American Standard translucent Sunset Orange made just before they went to S1's. This will be up for sale in two months when my custom jazz arrives (my subs are paid until next year so not a stealth ad ). Original scratchplate is white but I preferred black.
That was his Custom Shop Jazz. They basically removed the lower horn, giving it more of a Jaguar style lower bout and moved the neck and bridge so that the headstock was further away from the body. I think the only other 'non-standard' bit was a block inlay at the 12th fret with dots everywhere else
