zatoichi
Hey forum check out my gorgeous 1987 Thumb NT IV. Stunning looks and even better to play - lovely low action, super slim neck that feels effortless to play. EMG pickups, has a nice throaty growl. Here are some pics: You can see more images here: http://gallery.me.com/amarrison#100095&...osaic&sel=0 I've placed it on eBay with a starting price of £540. Peanuts for an instrument of this quality but I need to sell. Very reluctant sale but I have to pay for that Warwick Alien I bought.. Here's the ebay link, best of luck guys: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...E:IT&ih=020 ps thats not scratch marks on the backplate, thats the grass reflected.. Dubs
Worth a bit more than £540 me thinks (even with the current market and a few dings and marks)…That’s not just a Thumb, it’s one of the rarer and more sought after JD Thumbs. I’m sure Warwickhunt will be over in a minute… One was sold a couple of months ago at a ridiculous £400 on ebay via the Buy It Now feature, but the seller was either scamming or didn’t have a clue what he had. project_c
there is no way i deserve such a beautiful bass, but im keeping a very close eye on it on ebay. my budget is just below this, but i might be able to push it up a bit. let's see what happens. GreeneKing
I have a slightly later one and this deserves to go for considerably more than your starting price, even in todays climate. All the best with the sale. Peter
The Burpster
I realise this is your first post on here, but it would really help you (and us) if you fill out your profile and make some posts elsewhere as well. ! We will then be able to work out what you're like and indeed wether or not this sale is genuine.....? See my point?
warwickhunt
I think you fully realise that £540 is cheap and you 'will' get more than your starting bid on ebay I can assure you Your bass is an early JD model with the sculpted headstock etc. The crazy thing is that they aren't making any more money than the standard later models which if truth be told at the moment, is a bit pitiful. As has been said, make yourself known on here and you may get a few offers that won't cost you eBay fees! Good luck.
zatoichi
Hi guys, thanks for all your feedback! I take your point about my newbieness so have updated my profile accordingly, but the bidding is already underway on eBay now so you're protected by all the usual eBay stuff - I'm not going to offer a larger cheque in return, my uncle isn't an exiled Prince in Africa, etc etc, this is a scam-free zone Really interesting back info about the bass from you conneisseurs, thanks for that. I'm not a bass collector personally and have only ever bought my basses on merit. This is an absolute beauty but as I mentioned earlier, something has to go to pay for my new Alien, and I need the extra range my Thumb V gives me. I hated putting it up at this price but hopefully the bidding will climb closer to its true value. Either way this baby is going to some other lucky bassy in 8 days! King Tut, I'm based in Hackney, London. Project_C you absolutely deserve this bass! Nothing like owning and playing an exceptional instrument to drive you to greater heights Best, Z
markytbass
I am watching this on ebay as we speak, couldnt believe it when I saw it on here. I have my eye on something else at the mo (and the fact I have a bass to flog before I but another). Anyway I hope you get what it's worth, its a fine looking bass. tauzero
As my own Thumb is the older brother of this one (G961), have a bump on me. Fantastic basses - I've had mine since new and it's still my favourite bass.
jakenewmanbass
Thanks for that Marky, me too
There are a few guys on the Warwick forum that look for basses of this age if you haven't already post it there too. I sold a NT5 from the same year there. I got a reasonable price too. Best of luck. Jake
zatoichi
Thanks for that Jake, yep its up on the Warwick Forum too. Just a little bump here as the bidding finishes tomorrow (Sunday) at 7.25. Currently it's at £540 so it's definitely going to sell - check it out for a great opportunity to own a dream instrument for a ridiculously low price: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Warwick-Thumb-Bass-N...86.c0.m14.l1318 Edited August 2, 2008 by zatoichi
