miles'tone
Hey all. Do any of you know if there is such a thing available? I'm aware of the Hipshot A and B style bridges but I don't think they suit a Fender P personally, too modern looking imo. I'd like to lighten my bass further but want to keep it's vintage-ish look intact (it's a 5 string Squier VM P5) I've got some Ultralite tuners and drilled some wood out under the pickguard already BTW. HowieBass
I think that aluminium's probably going to be a little weak if made into the traditional BBOT design which is probably why bridges are made chunkier when cast in that material. What you really need is titanium...
Jono Bolton
How much weight would you save by swapping from the stock bridge (I assume it's stainless steel) to an aluminium one? Would it even be noticeable? They don't really weigh much as it is.
miles'tone
Probably less than a few runs round the block would take off me thinking about it! :-D Think I'll try that first thinking about it Many thanks Howiebass for the titanium suggestion, great idea. miles'tone
Well, I decided to hit up the weight thing both ways: Got a Hipshot A style aluminium bridge on it's way and just bought some Asics running shoes! :-D 16 week gym course starts tomorrow...
