Graham Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Payday tomorrow, and I'd like to pickup an album by Incognito, I don't know an awful lot about the band, so thought I'd ask the collective wisdom of Basschat. I don't want to spend much money at the moment and the below can be had for a pittance on Amazon, so is there one that is particularly better than the others? I have Adventures In Black Sunshine by them and prefer the upbeat funky tracks to the more mellow ones if that helps Poitivity 100⁰ And Rising Tribes Vibes And Scribes Cheers Quote
Acebassmusic Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 For me, the order would be: Tribes Vibes And Scribes 100⁰ And Rising Poitivity Quote
molan Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 How about the 30th Anniversay Live album? Has most of the best songs on it and production is good if I remember correctly. Quote
MB1 Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 Acebassmusic' For me, the order would be: Tribes Vibes And Scribes 100 degrees And Rising Positivity MB1. +1 Quote
ML94 Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 This is off topic but have you heard their latest ? Amplified Soul. A mixture of genres! Quote
ambient Posted July 30, 2014 Posted July 30, 2014 100 degrees is probably my favourite, the 30tn anniversary album is a good but too, features lots of the musicians from over the 3 decades. 😊 Quote
crez5150 Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 Too many to choose a single album from really.... I'd go with the 30th anniversary, I went to the o2 show and it was absolutely awesome. Another album of theirs I love is Tales from the Beach. Quote
Graham Posted July 31, 2014 Author Posted July 31, 2014 I went with the majority opinion and got Tribes, Vibes And Scribes. Picked up Return Of The Space Cowboy too and paid the princely some of £3.98 for both delivered Quote
TheGreek Posted July 31, 2014 Posted July 31, 2014 I've got "Jazz Funk", "Surreal" and "Always there" (greatest hits) - all different but all excellent.. Quote
bubinga5 Posted August 2, 2014 Posted August 2, 2014 (edited) i don't think there is a definitive album of those 3, or any incognito album. I've been listening to Incognito since Jazz Funk and before with Bluey with the Warriors and Light of the World, maybe 25 years ago. still can't think of a favourite album. there all great. there are so many like Eleven, Tales from the Beach, Who Needs Love. even splinter groups like Inner Shade, Citrus Sun.. Beneath the Surface is just great though, the soul in that album is just….. end of waffle. Tribes vibes and Scribes Positivity 100 and Rising this has always been great. its just Incognito for me.. SpaceChick Posted August 29, 2014 Posted August 29, 2014 Having been LOVING my Tribes, Vibes and Scribes album. Although tying myself in knots trying to play Colibri I am feeling the need for more Incognito in my collection. So basschatters... what album next? I prefer the funky instrumental stuff most. Thanks Quote
bubinga5 Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 (edited) . thing is Incognito don't do just instrumental albums. there first album is closest to what you might like. 'Jazz Funk'.. but picked out a couple of great instrumentals that might fit your bill. this is EPIC.! the bass playing is out there. ambient Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 I think the funkiest album is probably 100 degrees and rising. Features Randy Hope-Taylor and my personal favourite Julian Crampton. If you want to check out more Julian Crampton funkiness then I strongly recommend Joey Negro and the Sunburst band. Quote
