nomis
Hi, I have just joined a new band who play 80s pop/rock covers. Never really played 80's stuff before so i need some advice. What kind of stuff would you see in a bass board in the 80's?
HowieBass
I'd say definitely a chorus, probably an octaver as well, a delay pedal too.
nomis
I should have said what i have already... I have an MXR Octave pedal, a big muff, a sans amp bddi and a agular tone hammer. What would you recomend for a chorus? dont want to spend a tonne and i don't have loads of pedal real estate. Would the Corona Mini (TC) be any good or should i just go for the mooer? HowieBass
I'm not well up on what pedals these days sound like the 80s versions but as the TC Corona is toneprint enabled you'd surely come across one that gives you a good sound.
happynoj
You might need any effects. Why not wait and see what songs you are playing, and then listen to them and work out what you will need from there?
xgsjx
He makes sense. No point buying pedals & find nothing in the setlist uses them.
adamlunt
I'd go Compressor, Octave (MXR sounds amazing for synthy 80s stuff), then Chorus/Flanger (again, check out the MXR one)
