lukeward2004
Hey folks, So after the sale of a certain Streamer Jazzman LX5 fell through on here, I was hankering for a Thumb NT 5 and couldnt find one anywhere. Ive also been in love with the PNut Streamer for quite a while, but couldnt justify the HUGE (`£5k) pricetag for one, and then I came across this little beauty: http://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/Warwick_Streamer_P_Nut.html ...and Ive paid for it, collecting Monday. Excited isnt the word!!!!!!!! Always loved the P Nut tone, and I have a feeling this thing will generate a ton of growl and punch with the new rock band - Im also due to perform with Tara at the Brownstock Festival in Essex on 29th August, and I WILL be roadtesting this monster then too Will do a full write up and recording with it after I collect it on Monday, but I am literally BURSTING with excitement!!! discreet
God, you must be uber-chuffed. That is a silly price for a very rare instrument.
lukeward2004
As soon as I saw it, I rang up and paid for it - NO WAY was I going to let that go to someone else haha! Seems as though our very own BramleyApple is having the LX5 when I get back from holiday so I can at least recoup some of the costs too Edited August 2, 2014 by lukeward2004

lukeward2004
I think I'm going to get some shiny LEDs fitted to it, just not sure if the swirly inlays can be kept or not?
Jellyfish
Awesome man, congratulations! One of the best Warwick's I've ever played (so far...) was the cheaper vesion of the P-Nut at last years London Bass Show, although I'm sure yours will be much nicer. gingerfish
Having nabbed Col's PNut II I have to say I think you will be pleased. Huge sustain from the neck through and decent range of tones from the coil tap on the bridge pickup. I saw this pop up and thought it looked pretty good value I have to admit. If I hadn't already got one I would have considered it very hard.

Dingus
That looks like an amazing ( and very rare) bass at a bargain price. Enjoy it!
lukeward2004
Been playing around with it for a few hours now - its a really nice, versatile bass actually. Still has that Warwick growl, and in some ways it feels very similar to my Stage 2 when playing, but it sounds dramatically diferent (of course). Both slap and fingerstyle sound really nice on this, I esepcially like the sound when you really dig in tight and hard over the MM pickup, with the pup blend set dead center. The midrange is nice on this bass, I bet it will have no trouble cutting through. The front J pickup gives you what you would expect, but the angle its installed at seems to give a more even tone when you move to the upper registers on the G/D strings. Very well rounded and you can get a really nice, throaty (almost piano like) ring using the front alone. Rolling off the treble and backing up the mids a shade gives a really nice reggae/dub sound, and I wont even begin to tell you how monstrous it sounds when you crank up the bass and drive on the Sansamp! Its not as bright as my SS2, and it doesnt quite have that mid range growl the stage 2 has, but it certainly pleases my ears and I think this pair will serve me well for a long time. Neck wise, very similar to the SS2 again, although a shade fatter in terms of depth - nothing too drastic though. The setup is actually just right, no buzzing and all frets really sing, TONS of sustain from each fret and every note just rings out nicely - no dead spots or volume imbalances across the strings. All in all, very pleased!
FuNkShUi
If you do ever decide to sell this on, would you let me know? I will definitely be interested
