Is it worth that much as wood and metal, probably not, would it be worth that much to someone who really wants it and has the money? Yes

£3K for a, possibly refinned, '62 is a good price. Could easily hit £4K.

I see that the string tree seems to be run right through the headstock to another on the back. That looks weird. Is it normal for basses of that age?

That's a strap button very usual on old basses.
