Painy Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 (edited) Just seen a listing on eBay - item number 151368795060 if you want to have a look. A Peavey 3620 cab containing 2 18" drivers topped off with a further 2 10s. I could actually feel my vertebrae starting to turn to dust just looking at the pictures! I'm sure it sounds volcanic but what on earth would possess anyone to design such a thing? Edited August 3, 2014 by Painy Quote
Beer of the Bass Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 He'll be lucky to find somebody willing to pay that much, comply with his unusually demanding terms and conditions and collect it from Dumfries & Galloway on one day only... Quote
HowieBass Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Aye it's that joker in Annan. We see a lot of comments about his eBay listings on here. Quote
JapanAxe Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 He's breaching eBay's (self-serving) policy by not allowing PayPal payment - not even a small deposit. Other things that spring to mind: (1) The scene from Back to the Future with the massive speaker. (2) The growing problem of 'beds in sheds'. And no, it won't sell, despite being 'super-rare', because nobody wants one! Quote
Marvin Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 It's enough to give you a hernia just looking at it. All those conditions are a complete load of hog wash. I can't see it going anywhere fast... for a whole variety of reasons. Quote
JTUK Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 I'd be very interested how they x-over as I can see that cab being so bass heavy that the 10's would be pretty useless.. Quote

Marvin Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 It's clearly a design to get the 10s at ear level...the 18s just act as a 'stand'. Quote
winterfire666 Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 i remember these, the last one i tried (many many years ago)sounded great but weighed as much as a small moon, it could really shift some air though. perfect for a house rig in a venue maybe Quote
Lozz196 Posted August 3, 2014 Posted August 3, 2014 Seeing as a Peavey 410 is over 100lbs, this seriously must weigh the same as The Moon. If he sells it it could cause an inbalance in The Earths gravity. Quote

Cosmo Valdemar Posted August 4, 2014 Posted August 4, 2014 I'm going to send him a message to see if I can pay by Paypal. Under the rues of Ebay he has to accept. Quote
Painy Posted August 5, 2014 Author Posted August 5, 2014 Is funny. When I posted this I thought I'd better not mention what a 'little Hitler' the seller seemed to be incase he was a bc member but I guess there's no pulling punches here. It's possible the seller is crazier than the item he's selling! Quote

[/quote]Yes, but instead of an underperforming monstrosity you'd have a fairly well performing monstosity. It would still be a monstrosity. A far better investment would be modern drivers in a modern cab half the size and weight that works better. Quote
BluRay Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 I had the titchy little 1820 (with just one 18 driver plus 2x10 above). It weighed an absolute tonne and was completely impractical - but, to be fair, always sounded fantastic. The 3620 looks insane. Quote
Japhet Posted August 6, 2014 Posted August 6, 2014 I've got the 1820 too. Used to gig with it. It had casters on the bottom so wheeled around nicely. I could tip it up and slide it in the back of my Subaru Legacy so no issues there. Sounded huge as well - felt like somebody kicking you n the calves when you stood in front of it. It now lives permanently in the rehearsal room. Quote
