Les
New baby. I've waited a long time for a Jim Deacon/SX p-bass shorty with the fender headstock to come up.

A taste I've recently and rather surprisingly acquired. I bought a 30" Hofner CT Verythin and am mightily impressed both with the bass and the shortie scale. I'm finding the Hofner experience quite rewarding.
mikbass
I have these, 1964 Hofner club bass, 60's Eko florentine mod 960 and a 1961 Harmony H22. The H22 was a wreck, hence the non original parts.
Evil Undead
Lovely! I'd love one of those but alas, I think I'm too late
Precision
I only decided I wanted one around a week ago - sourced this little beauty in no time and it more than exceeds my expectations. I've had a couple of short scales before (Epiphone Flying V and Fender Starcaster) but this baby punches well above her weight and plays like a dream. Well worth perservering to find one
How does the weight of the Chowny compare with the Coronado? In fact, please compare and contrast between the two. Muppet
I should do a proper comparison at some point but weight wise, the Coronado is 9lb 10oz, the Chowny is 7lb 8oz. Chowny is 22 frets vs 21 on the Fender but feels a smaller guitar, maybe because of the weight and the headstock size. Fender has a bolt on neck and the Chowny's is set. The Chowny has a floating bridge and there's less adjustment possible than on the Fender but I can get it to exactly how I want it so it's not an issue. In terms of control, there's a wider range of sounds possible from the Chowny and the volume controls are wired independently unlike the Fender which is wired like a Les Paul. scrumpymike
OK guys, you've shown me yours - so here's mine! "]http:// Left to right: Gibson Les Paul Junior DC Very good at doing what Gibson basses do and better balanced on the strap than an SG - I've got a set of Jazz Flats for it but not got round to fitting them yet; Hofner Contemporary Club Acquired pretty much out of curiosity (and because it looks so COOL in cherry red) as part of a trade, and I absolutely LOVE IT! - especially for long rehearsals, when the light weight (6 1/2 lbs) is a bonus; Fender Rascal This is a fabulous piece of kit with a wide range of sounds from the 3 lipstick pups readily accessible thanks to the neat switching system - this is one hugely capable and very under-rated bass that behaves more like a standard scale than any I've tried. As you can see, quirky/different stuff is what I like the best
