discreet Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 It's NOT the Messiah - it's a very naughty bass. Quote

Paul S Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 I don't know about a second coming but this is about the 3rd or 4th listing.... Quote

yorks5stringer Posted August 8, 2014 Posted August 8, 2014 No one expected that Bass to show up again, especially with the original hang tag...... Quote
tauzero Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 Now we know what bass Captain James T Kirk would fall in love with. Quote
Dad3353 Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014
So how much are they worth?
God knows. Quote
Thunderbird Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 (edited)
So how much are they worth?
Well there has been a few on here that have sold for around £550-£650 but I think £840 is pretty high for one but I am no expert Edited August 9, 2014 by Thunderbird Quote
itsmedunc Posted August 9, 2014 Author Posted August 9, 2014 I've got one the same but with a white plate and its a very very good bass. I paid about 6 for mine and it really is worth the money. Quote
timmo Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 I guess this is the sort of bass you could find in the local paper for £100 or so. Unless you knew otherwise i suppose you would just assume it is a cheap Fender Quote
itsmedunc Posted August 10, 2014 Author Posted August 10, 2014 I appreciate what you say but NO... This is an absolutely excellent bass and owners do know. Far superior than mij and cij basses. These basses are the bollox. They embarrassed Fender USA at the time, hence. I will buy every single JV all day long for £100 if you can supply at that price, I will even treble it... Anybody who wants to sell one for this price please let me know. Cheers Dunc Quote
Paul S Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 I think the problem with this one is that when it was first listed he said it was a '93. Next listing he changed that to an '83, said he bought it from new (hence the dodgy irrelevant swing tag). My memory is not all that great, but I can differentiate what I did in the 80s and 90s. Possibly just a typo but, in that case, why not just say it was a typo? There seems to me to be too many discrepancies to trust the listing, and the dodgy pictures don't help. But as far as JV Squiers in general are concerned they are absolutely superb. I have one and it is a corker. Quote

I was thinking of the kid who had it one christmas in 1983, never realy mastered it and out it in the cupboard. He has emigrated, and the mum asks what to do. He says sell it, so she looks up Squire, and puts it in the paper for £100 for example. Quote
timmo Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Did the date get written on the heel in pen? I would have thought it would be printed Quote
