ambient
Any suggestions on what to get ? It really needs to be on wheels. I was looking at this one here - http://www.gear4music.com/Woodwind-Brass-Strings/3-4-size-Double-Bass-Case-by-Gear4music/9IK
keeponehandloose
these are too nig and awkward. you need a garrage to store them and they dont fit in a lot of cars. Search for a Will & Tom case.
chrisd24
+1 for that.…just fitting them through some doorways can be impossible!
ambient
I was really looking for something maybe on wheels.

bassmayhem
Do you need a hardcase or can you manage with a sturdy gigbag and a wheel like this? http://www.contrabass.co.uk/basswheel.htm
fatgoogle
Id just buy an external end pin wheel or a bass biggie. Seems much safer.
ambient
I don't drive so it's trains and tube . I was looking at the wheels, they do look like a good idea, not sure it'd be good for on trains though, where I'd just prop the bass up in the corner. One I caught last week had bike storage areas that the guard said to use, so it spent an hour happily propped there.
fatgoogle
The bass buggy is great for that. I prop it in the corner with the buggy still on and then use one of the straps from the case to secure it in the corner.

blinddrew
I've got one of the G4M cases (came with the bass) and I've never used it. It's just too darn big whenever you get anywhere.

paddy109
Ambient - my tom and will does me proud and the back straps are great for stairs and muddy festivals!
Rabbie
I'm on the market for a better soft case and I am looking at the Tom and Will, but they don't seem to have wheels (not a deal breaker for me but I just wanted to make sure I'm looking at the right ones). paddy109
Rab - correct the new cases don't come with wheels! Strange though, perhaps they had problems? I have owned 2 of these, the first the zip failed after quite some time and I was given quite a good discount on my next one that is going strong. Rabbie
Thank you Paddy, I think I'll pull the trigger on one of these.

[/quote] Yeah, I emailed them, they don't have wheels anymore, so I'm probably just going to get a normal Tom and Will one.
