Apologies for my ignorance, but I decided to splash out on a fancy padded DSL strap, and I've never had one in this style before.

Am I best to cut this excess below? Just want to check before getting the shears out, as it was expensive.

Not sure what strap you have there exactly, but normally the thicker end goes at the front (on the horn) and the thinner bit at the back, where a bit of excess doesn't stand out... :)
