Looks like a pretty clean break and it has a nice gradient to the break so there is plenty to glue and attach to, is it worth a punt or is it a steer well clear job?

I have to say I am tempted

I have a local luthier who put a far more shallow angle headstock snap back on a Gretsch Duo jet for me a couple of years back, it is still solid as ever and even stays perfectly in tune so I am sure he could do this one but the Duo Jet was a neck break not a headstock so I am not sure if that would change things at all

This is my old Overwater fretless. It had a neck break almost identical to the one above. It can be fixed.

it's not a C bass though, I think it's standard scale.

I'd agree. For a C Bass the bridge needs to be right at the end of the body like the 36" scale 5-string models.

Well worth a punt. Get a tube of Titebond III and some G cramps, job's done.
I concur with others here, it's not a C Bass. Still a lovely instrument though.
