Jus Lukin Posted August 16, 2014 Posted August 16, 2014 (edited) This is an Eminence Red White and Blues speaker, essentially a classic Fender speaker, tweaked for better all-round performance. 120 watts, 8 ohms, 12" The basis for the voicing of this speaker is the classic stock Fender speaker; Jensen or suchlike. As a rule of thumb the Fender speakers kick out a lot of bass and treble, with a very 'scooped' mid-range, great for certain old-school clean tones: Country, Reggae, Jazz and Surf, in particular, but with a tendancy to 'fizz' and disappear into the mix with overdrive or distortion. This speaker starts there, but reigns in the lows and highs, with a bit more presence in the mids. This means that while it still gives a classic Fender clean tone, it sits in the mix a little better, without that simultaneous 'punch-in-the-guts-and-stab-in-the-earhole' at volume. With dirt it really improves on the originals, with tighter lows, smoother highs, and a nice 'chewy' detail to the all important mid range. I have used the speaker in a 60 watt Fender combo, at reasonable volume in clean venues, primarily weddings and private parties, for a couple of years. It is still in very good condition and comes in it's original box. £40 posted! Best, Andy [attachment=169315:DSC_0149.jpg] [attachment=169316:DSC_0150.jpg] Edited August 16, 2014 by Jus Lukin
Jus Lukin Posted November 1, 2014 Author Posted November 1, 2014 Let's call it £20! I'd like this to go, and I don't fancy Ebay-ing it. If that's not a bargain, I don't know what is!
