bakerster135
Burgundy Mist Jazz after recording last night. Pipped the Stingray, and sounded absolutely fantastic :-)

sshorepunk
Still liking the look of these, I have a 64 custom shop heavy relic, great bass, but would be nice to get something reliced even worse like the 60's stack knob on page 1! Really like this bass too From all the above comments, it seems that those who order a Limelight from Mark really love everything about their bass I know I really liked the sound on that Limelight P I played.... LemonCello
The PUP's in my Limelight '63P died at a gig last wknd Phoned Mark and he was very good about it. He will send a new set of relice'd pup's and I'll return the buggered ones. He'll also refund the cost of my guitar tech to swap them out. Great customer service! discreet
Candy apple red 1964 light relic
Very nice - and it IS a light relic. One of the lightest Limelight relics I've seen, in fact.

When it came the bridge pup was dead! Must just be my luck!

The bridge pickup inevitably fails on any guitar he owns for more than about a week.

I'll tell you whats weird though, when Fender Roadworn series came out, many folks thought the relic'ing was too extreme! Weird to look back now at a 'light relic' that has more wear than a RW. Definitely more attractive relic'ing than a RW, possibly more convincing, but I've never owned a vintage bass. Certainly looks the part to my eyes and is completely to my taste. Awesome. Shame it's not a P!
Tweedledum
I stumbled over this thread 3 days ago. After scrolling through it completely, I got hooked. Contacted Mark yesterday and ordered a '63 P in Shoreline Gold, medium relic.
Rumple
Nice choice of colour I contacted Mark a while back about a light relic 66 Jazz in Shoreline Gold, he said he's look into it but never got back to me.

Rumple
He did reply quickly to my initial enquiry but as there was some question over him being able to get a dot and bound neck and lollipop tuners he said he's get back to me but never did, The GAS has passed a bit now so it's saved me a few quid. Marc S
I've got to say, I've pondered quite a bit (partly due to having to sell another bass first) but my ponderings are only about what colour / finish to opt for.... Having emailed Mark quite a few times over the past few weeks I have to say, he always replies very promptly and with more options / choices (making my decisions more difficult!) I will definitely be ordering a bass from him in the new year because every time I see a Limelight, I love it! Certainly the ones I have played, and the reputation of these basses goes before itself.... PS. I'm sure your GAS will return Rumpole..... sorry, but it does seem to bite again.... ras52
Look everyone, this has to stop! I'm at the point of "moving on the unplayed basses to raise money for recording", not "moving on the unplayed basses to raise money for another bass"! Would a relic 5-string be too much of a paradox? thebassist
Are the dots inbounds clay on limelights? I played a couple but never checked that.
